School Holiday Music Camps
Looking for an unforgettable school holiday activity?
Big Music’s Holiday Rock Camps are fun, creative and highly engaging for kids aged 5+, from complete beginners to experienced young musicians.
It’s a fantastic alternative to the usual school holiday routine of sport, screens and childcare, giving kids the chance to be creative, social, confident and inspired through music.
Your child will play real songs on real instruments, rehearse with a band, and perform for family and friends at the end of the week – all guided by inspiring professional music coaches in our purpose-built studios.
Along the way they’ll make new friends, build confidence and have an absolute blast making music together.
Choose from three tailored programs designed for different ages and skill levels (see below).
Camps typically run 9am–3pm daily for a full week - i.e. Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.
Before and after care is available as an optional extra from 8:30am to 5:30pm each day, booked and paid separately.

THE ULTIMATE ROCK EXPERIENCE
(Primary school age)
AGES 5 - 11 NO MUSICAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
The perfect way for younger kids (ages 5+) to start their musical journey, the URE program offers a fun and supportive environment where they can explore a range of cool, contemporary instruments. Working in small groups with our expert coaches, kids rotate daily through lessons on drums, piano/keyboard, singing and guitar or ukulele. The camp culminates in an epic rock ensemble performance on the final day, providing a fantastic introduction to the world of music and helping kids discover an instrument they love.
JUNIOR BAND PROGRAM (ages 8-12)
AGES 8+ WITH 1+ YEARS PLAYING EXPERIENCE, A SHORT AUDITION MAY BE REQUIRED FOR FIRST-TIMERS
The Junior Band Program is perfect for aspiring rockstars aged 8+ who have been playing an instrument for at least a year. Designed to introduce kids to playing in a rock band and performing with their peers, this program allows students to focus on their most proficient instrument and build on their skills throughout the week. Working with inspiring professional musicians, kids will rehearse as a band, developing their musicianship and stagecraft. The week culminates in an awesome live performance for family and friends.
TEEN BAND PROGRAM (ages 12+)
AGES 12+ WITH 1+ YEARS PLAYING EXPERIENCE, SHORT AUDITION MAY BE REQUIRED FOR FIRST-TIMERS
Teen Band Program is designed for young musicians aged 12+ who are ready to rock and have been playing for at least a year. This one-of-a-kind experience gives aspiring teenage rockstars the opportunity to develop their playing skills and flex their musical muscle as part of a fully-fledged rock band. Working with inspiring professional musicians, students prepare a setlist for an exhilarating live stage performance on the final day. The focus is on fun while developing musicianship and stagecraft, with creative songwriting also woven in.
