Performance Programs for Kids & Teens
At Big Music in Crows Nest, young musicians don’t just learn songs — they join real rock bands, rehearse weekly with professional coaches, and take the stage to perform live in front of an audience of family and friends.
Our 15-week Band Programs are designed to build confidence, teamwork, and musicianship — all while having serious fun making music with others.
Each week, students rehearse with their band under the guidance of a professional musician, working towards an epic end-of-term performance in our fully equipped live venue.
It’s a unique opportunity for music-loving kids and teens to connect, grow, and experience the thrill of being in a high-performance rock band — and the memories will last long after the final song.

Junior Band Program (Ages 9–12)
For kids who’ve already started learning an instrument — guitar, drums, vocals, bass or keys — the Junior Band Program is the perfect next step. In weekly rehearsals, they’ll:

Learn to play in sync with others

Rehearse rock and pop classics as a team

Develop stage presence and confidence

Prepare for live performances in front of family and friends
No experience playing in a band is needed — just basic skills on an instrument and a passion for music.

Teen Band Program (Ages 13–17)
Our Teen Band Program kicks things up a notch. It’s ideal for young musicians who are ready to:

This program offers a taste of what it’s like to be in a real working band — with all the thrill of rehearsing, performing, and progressing together.
