Bandits & Young Guns

The next generation of Australian Musicians

For talented kids ready to take their musical performance skills to the next level, the Big Music Bandits and Young Guns programs offer incredible opportunities to be coached by pro musicians and perform alongside leading artists at community events, fundraisers and festivals around the country.

 

For students in years 11 and 12, participation in the Bandits program can also lead to preferential entry to tertiary music studies and course credits at the Australian Institute of Music (AIM).

Who Should Join?

Young Guns is for kids aged 9 to 13 who have been playing or singing for a few years, already have some performance experience and are looking for more!

 

Bandits is for teenagers who are already passionate musicians looking for new challenges and to be pushed towards their full musical potential.

 

Both programs require a high level of commitment, so you must be willing to put in the work to perform at the highest level. Beyond excellent musicianship, the highest standards of conduct are expected both on and off stage.

How do I join?

Both programs are selective and entry is via an audition process, held in January each year and whenever vacancies arise. 

 

To be eligible, you must be enrolled in another Big Music performance program (either a Rock Show or Coached Band).

 

If you're joining from outside Big Music, we'll invite you to come in for a "meet and greet" with one of our coaches.
