We’ve answered the most common questions to help you feel confident and informed.
What is the ASMP program?
ASMP is Big Music’s exciting after-school music program for primary school kids. What if I want to come another day, or from another school?
No problem! You’re welcome to drop your child off at Big Music directly. If you’re from another school or want to attend on a different day, we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs — just reach out and chat with our team.
Can my child join at any time?
Yes! We accept new students at any point in the term (subject to availability). You’ll simply be billed from the week your child joins.
How do I book?
Visit the ASMP web page to register your interest, or call our team on (02) 8622 6550 and we’ll walk you through the process.
How do I pay?
Weekly payments are processed via credit card for the duration of the term. Your place is secured once your enrolment is confirmed and payment details are set up.
What happens if we miss a week?
If your child misses a session, we ask that you notify us in advance. We are happy to offer a catch up session on another day in the same week, subject to availability. If they do miss a week don't worry, each week is designed to be self-contained, so your child won’t fall behind.
How experienced and well-trained are your music coaches?
Our coaches are inspiring, professional musicians trained to work with children in a fun, engaging way. All coaches hold a current Working With Children Check.
Why do you teach multiple instruments?
Young Rockers is all about helping kids discover their musical interests. By trying different instruments (like keyboards, drums, ukulele, and voice), kids develop broader musical skills and are more likely to find an instrument they truly connect with.
Can my child just pick one instrument to focus on?
While we encourage broader exploration of instruments in the early stages, if your child shows a strong interest in a particular instrument, we can tailor their experience around that preference to the extent possible in a small class. For deeper learning, private one-on-one lessons are also available.
