Simply a beautiful instrument, hand turned via lathe from a single piece of environmentally friendly plantation-grown mahogany, the instruments tuning, head, and sealing are sufficient to commend it as one of the finest Djembes available.

Four beautiful hand-painted African Mali symbols, representing wisdom, transformation, harmony and independence, adorn the outer surface of each drum. The inside of the Djembe has lateral grooves and rough-surface inner shell carvings that reduce interior swirling overtones which also helps focus fundamental pitches. Those pitches come more easily with a solid piece of tone wood that has been kiln dried then sealed with twenty coats of teak oil. Applied in these quantities, premium sealers act both as a protection agent and promoter of defined pitches.
