School Holiday activities for Kids who Love to Rock!
Big Music runs school holiday activities in Sydney every school holidays over 4-day for kids aged 8 to 18. It's a school holiday activity that's fun for kids of all ages. They often tell us “it’s the best thing I’ve ever done in my life!” and can’t wait to come again the next school holidays. The kids love it because they get to hang out with real pro musicians, play in our real studios on the latest and best equipment, get to play the music they love, be creative and ultimately showcase their talent in front of Mum, Dad and all their friends. What could be cooler than that!
How does it work?
At each Holiday Rock Skool the kids are organised into 2 programs, based on their age and playing ability.
The Ultimate Rock Experience
The Ultimate Rock Experience (URE) program is typically for younger kids (8 to 12) who have less than a year’s playing experience, or are wanting to try a new instrument. On each of the 4 days the kids will have lessons on all the major rock band instruments - guitar, bass, drums, keyboard and singing. They’ll also spend time in our Apple Tech Lab learning to write songs, create and mix music digitally. On the final day they get to showcase their musical creations to Mum and Dad.
The Band Program
The Band Program is for kids with at least a year’s playing experience (a short audition may be required) who are ready to join a real band and be coached to a performance. Over the 4 days the kids in the Band Program will placed in bands and work on 4 songs, typically 3 cover songs and one original which the kids themselves create, under the direction of one of our expert pro musician coaches. On the final day the kids dress up and perform live on stage in our Big Room in front of a real audience of family and friends. Very cool!
What does our school holiday program cost?
$440 for the 4 day school holiday program, inclusive of morning and afternoon tea daily and FREE admission for family and friends to the final day concert.
Kids can either BYO lunch or some pocket money to buy from local shops (parental permission required).
