Learn to Play in a Band

Putting people in bands and watching them rock out in front of family and friends is the very essence of Big Music - it's what we do best, and what we most love to do.

We love our Bands

We currently have over 40 bands for adults and kids that we have created and coach on a weekly basis at Big Music in our 6 state-of-the-art, fully equipped band studios.  All of these bands perform regularly at our Sunday afternoon Big Gigs held in our very own performance venue, The Big Room, and at a variety of other festivals and events throughout the year.  

Some of our bands have gone on to bigger and better things, playing regular gigs around town and being hired for weddings and parties. If that's your goal, we can help with that too.

So how does it work?

It starts with you registering your interest in joining a band by calling our “Dream Team” on 02 8622 6555 or filling in the online form below.

We’ll ask you some questions about the music you’re into, how long you’ve been playing and maybe get you in for a brief “meet and greet” with our Band Coaching chief legend, Damon Lesnie.  

Then we go to work matching you with some other student musos we think you’ll enjoy playing with - this process might take a few days or weeks.

When we’ve got a line up that we reckon will work, we invite everyone in for a free trial session.  After that, we take everyone’s pulse and work out if we’ve got it right or need to mix and match the line up some more.  

Eventually we’ll settle you into a band, and you’ll begin weekly sessions at a regular time slot that suits everyone - all under the guidance of an expert pro musician coach, who might also play in your band.  

Before you know it, we’ll have you up performing at Big Gigs or cutting tracks in our recording studio - and surprising people in ways you never imagined possible.  

What's it cost?

Band Coaching Sessions

• For Kids - $30  (1 hour sessions 4pm and 5pm Monday to Friday and weekends)
• For Grown Ups - $50  (90 minute sessions 6pm and 7:30pm Monday to Thursday and weekends)  

A 10% discount applies for Prepaying a full term of 10 sessions.
